FIRST FLIGHT OF ARIAN 6

Europe's new heavy-lift rocket Ariane 6 is a European expendable launch system operated by Arianespace and developed and produced by ArianeGroup on behalf of the European Space Agency. Ireland is one of 13 countries involved.
It replaces Ariane 5, as part of the Ariane launch vehicle family. This two-stage rocket utilizes liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen engines.
Ariane 6, made its inaugural flight from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana at 16:00 local time on 9 July
This inaugural flight, designated VA262, is a demonstration flight whose aim is to show the capabilities and prowess of Ariane 6 in escaping Earth's gravity and operating in space.
